Events at Historic Yates Mill

The Historic Yates Mill Country Park is offering some highly cool family events in October. Here are a few that you might consider attending.

If you love birds then you might start with Who’s Passing Through, a birding event that takes place on October 6th from 11 am till noon. This mini course teaches you how to identify birds in the wild. It’s a great time to tackle such a course since there are a bunch of bird varieties migrating through the area right now. It’s $3 per person or $5 per family.

On October 18th between 6 and 7 pm you can take your kids to Up, Up and Away Astronomy. This mini-class is $3 per person and $5 per family as well. It teaches people how to observe and study the night sky with a simple pair of binoculars.

If you’d like to get out on the water a few more times before it gets cold then try the Paddle the Pond event on October 26th from 10:30 to 11:30. These are just $10 per boat, though you need to register in advance.

The center is located at 4620 Wheeler Road in Raleigh. They also have many, many other events to explore. Check it out if you’ve never been there before. It’s sure to provide plenty of fun!

Keep checking back on our blog for more community events. While we love talking about all things electrical we also want to take time out to support our friends and neighbors in the Triangle area. If you have an event that you’d like us to mention on our blog just let us know in the comments below, and we’ll take a look at it!
